Complete meltdown. OK I guess thats a little dramatic, I have had worse meltdowns but this one was pretty good.
Today started off good cuz we got to sleep in a little(6:30!), but after breakfast we jumped right in. We didn't do PT because the training we were doing today was very physical. In fact I'm sure I got more of a workout today than from anything else we've done so far! At least I know I did a lot more sweating! We learned some basic moves for taking people into custody who really don't want to go to jail. It was a lot of fun but very hard work. By the time the day was over I felt like I got hit by a Mack Truck! We learned how to put on handcuffs and use a police baton as well as some unarmed moves, so don't even try to mess with my chocolat cuz I WILL get it away from you!
Oh yeah, I did mention a little meltdown didn't I? Well after a very long exhausting day somebody just said something very minor that totally hurt my feelings. We were all standing around waiting to get on the bus to go back to our barracks and she was talking to somebody else and reffered to me as "she" like I wasn't standing right there next her. Not really a big deal but kind of annoying and it made me mad. I allowed myself to steam about it the whole bus ride so by the time we got back to the barracks (about a 10 minute ride) I was all worked up over nothing. I got overwhelmingly lonely and cried like a baby! I think I'm a lot more worried about the OC course than I'm willing to admit. The OC course is where we will be tested on all the training we learned today. We have to show that we can perform the takedowns on a person but we have to do it AFTER we get sprayed in the face with OC (pepper spray/mace)! Yeah I'm little nervous about that. We have another day of practice and then we do the course on Mon. I can hardly wait!!!!!!

Debbie, I know it's hard not to get upset about things. I can tell that you want this very much! Don't let other people bring you down (I know, I know...easier said than done). But I will leave you with a favorite saying of mine...it's from Saint Pio of Pietrelcina (I believe that he was the last person to be made a saint)..."Pray, hope and don't worry. Trust in the infinite goodness of almighty God". If you want to know more about St. Pio, do an internet search. He lived an amazing life with the wounds of Christ for 50 years!
ReplyDeleteKeep up the good work...I think it's great what you are doing!
